Applications are invited on prescribed Admission Forms, from candidates having Domicile (No other certificate is acceptable) of any district of Punjab or Federal Capital Area (Islamabad) and who have appeared in the Entrance Test held on 23rd September, 2012, for admission to Government Medical and Dental Colleges of the Punjab

WHO CAN APPLY

For admission against Open Merit seats, only those candidates having an aggregate score of 80% or above marks(excluding Huffaz-e-Quran) can apply
According to PMDC Regulations, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks as follows:
Matric or Equivalent ------ 10%
FSc or Equivalent ------ 40%
UHS Entrance Test ------ 50%
The formula for calculation of Aggregate Marks is also available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk
The aforementioned condition is not applicable to candidates seeking admission against any category of reserved seats (Disabled Students, Under-Developed Districts, Cholistan) who can apply if they fulfill basic eligibility criteria as laid down in the Prospectus and also available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk.
There are 09 seats available on Reciprocal basis for Punjab domiciled candidates in the medical colleges of Balochistan, KPK and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates applying against open merit seats can exercise their option for these seats as well. No separate application will be invited for these seats

HOW TO APPLY

The Admission Kits containing Prospectus and Admission Form, will be available, free of cost, at University of Health Sciences, Khayaban-e-Jamia Punjab, Lahore, Rawalpindi Medical College Rawalpindi and Nishtar Medical College Multan, from 31st October to 10th November, 2012 (excluding Sunday and Iqbal Day), from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. The candidates will have to provide the attested copies of their Matriculation, FSc (or Equivalent) and Entrance Test Result Cards and domicile certificate to be able to get the Admission Kit.
Candidates must submit the duly filled Admission Forms alongwith all required documents as provided in the Prospectus, IN PERSON at the centre from where they received their kit, from 31st October to 10th November, 2012 (excluding Sunday and Iqbal Day), from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm. Admission forms received by post shall not be entertained
Candidates will give their preference for medical and dental colleges in one single admission form which once given shall be final and cannot be changed subsequently. An applicant shall not be considered for a college he/she has not named in his/her order of preference. One candidate can only submit one form. There is no need to submit separate forms for MBBS and BDS
Forms once submitted shall not be returned. Incomplete or unsigned admission forms will be rejected

IMPORTANT

No admission form will be accepted after 03:00 pm on Saturday, 10th November, 2012.

Once the admission form is submitted, no other document (e.g., revised marks certificate, domicile certificate, etc) shall be acceptable. The documents submitted with the form shall be considered as final.

Candidates having foreign qualifications such as A/O-Level etc., shall have to provide the Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC.

Any candidate found to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents with the admission form shall be permanently debarred from admission to any medical/dental college.

Hifz-e-Quran Test

The Muslim Huffaz-e-Quran, desirous of admission to Government Medical and Dental Institutions of the Punjab, Session 2012-13, shall have to pass a Hifz-e-Quran Test, conducted by the University of Health Sciences Lahore, to attract the benefit of 20 marks which will be added to their FSc/HSSC/Equivalent score.

The test shall be held from 8^th October to 13^th October, 2012 at the University of Health Sciences Lahore

Only those Huffaz-e-Quran, who have appeared in UHS Entrance Test 2012 and have secured 79% or above aggregate marks are eligible to sit the Hifz-e-Quran Test (The formula for calculation of aggregate marks is available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk).

All such candidates are advised to contact the office of Director Medical Education, Room No.44 at UHS, Lahore, IN PERSON, from 2nd October to 5th October, 2012, during working hours, so that they could be registered for the test.

The candidates shall have to provide the original and attested copies of their Matriculation, FSc/HSSC and Entrance Test 2012 result cards and their domicile certificate

ENTRANCE TEST 2012
IMPORTANT PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Entrance Test for admission in medical / dental institutions of the Punjab shall be held on Sunday, 23rd September, 2012, simultaneously at 20 centres in 12 cities of the Punjab. The test shall start at 09:00 A.M. sharp. The University has already issued Roll Numbers to eligible candidates. Roll number-wise distribution of candidates at each centre is being advertised for the convenience of candidates. All the candidates who have got their Admittance Cards issued by the University, must reach their respective centres by 08:00 A.M., on 23rd September.
Due to flood, the centre at D.G. Khan has been shifted to Muzaffargarh. All the candidates who were earlier allotted D.G. Khan centre on their Admittance Cards issued by the university shall now appear at Govt. Degree College for Boys Muzaffargarh
The centres shall be sealed/closed at 08:15 A.M., and nobody shall be allowed to enter the examination centre after that. All candidates are advised to identify exact location of their centres a day earlier. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR ADMITTANCE CARD WITH YOU.

Admissions in Private Sector Medical / Dental Colleges of the Punjab,
Session 2012-13

PUBLIC ALERT

Students desirous of admission to private sector medical and dental institution of the Punjab, and their parents, are hereby informed that according to the Regulation of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), notified vide letter No.PF-12-F-2012 (Council)/238780, dated 31st August, 2012, private sector medical / dental institutions cannot initiate their admission process before the display of merit/selection list for Government Medical / Dental Institutions of the Punjab
Any demand of money either in the name of “Advance Booking of Seats” or in the garb of “Donations” is absolutely illegal as per the regulations of PMDC and University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore.
Aspiring candidates and their parents are strongly advised not to pay heed to any such illegal monetary demands from any person or private sector institution. Public is encouraged to report such illegal activities by any institution with proper evidence, without any fear or intimidation, as the name of the complainant shall be kept confidential.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

This is in partial modification of the advertisement appeared on 12.08.2012 and 19.08.2012 in major national dailies.
Because of the delay in the declaration of FSc/HSSC Part II result and in order to facilitate potential candidates, all those students awaiting their FSc/HSSC (Premedical) Part II result, can now submit a HOPE CERTIFICATE issued by the Head / Principal of the institution where he/she has studied during last two years, to appear in the Entrance Test 2012. The certificate must clearly indicate that the said student has appeared in FSc (Premedical) examination and he/she is expected to secure at least 60% (i.e. 660/1100) marks in aggregate. This certificate shall only be acceptable for appearance in the Entrance Test. The admission shall be granted on merit worked out on the basis of original scores

ENTRANCE TEST – 2012

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore, shall conduct the Entrance Test for admission to First Year MBBS / BDS in Public and Private Medical and Dental Institutions of the Punjab on Sunday, 23rd September, 2012 at 09:00 A.M

As per the Regulations of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), it is mandatory to appear in the Entrance Test of the Punjab for admission to any medical/dental college of the province

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ENTRANCE TEST
The applicant has passed Intermediate Science (HSSC/F.Sc) (Pre-Medical Group) or Equivalent Examination, securing at-least 60% (660/1100), unadjusted marks (excluding the marks of Hifz-e-Quran etc.). Those having foreign qualifications such as A-Level or American 12th Grade, shall have to provide the Equivalence Certificate issued by Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
WHO CAN APPLY
1. The candidates having domicileof any district of the Punjab and Federal Capital Area (Islamabad), Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Province of Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Area).
2. Dual nationals of Pakistani origin must take the Entrance Test (If they have not passed SAT II examination with a minimum score of 550 marks in each science subject i.e., Biology, Chemistry and Physics / Mathematics) for admission against seats reserved for them under Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) and Self- Finance Scheme (SFS).

FORMAT OF ENTRANCE TEST
1. The test shall consist of one paper containing 220 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)- four options with single best answer- divided into Four sections, namely
2. The duration of Test shall be 150 minutes (2½ hours).
3. Each question carries 05 marks. Total marks, therefore, are 1100.
4. There shall be Negative Marking in the test. For each correct answer, 05 marks will be awarded whereas for each incorrect answer, one (01) mark will be deducted from the total score. .
SYLLABUS OF ENTRANCE TEST
The syllabus of Entrance Test 2012 has already been available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk. The candidates are advised to prepare for the Entrance Test according to this syllabus from their respective textbooks.
CENTRES FOR ENTRANCE TEST

5. On successful submission of application, the Duty Staff will issue a receipt to the applicant. The applicant is required to collect his/her duly stamped Admittance Card bearing his/her roll number and centre for Entrance Test, from the same centre where he/she submitted his/her application, on the date mentioned on his/her receipt. The Admittance Cards will be available from 11th September to 15th September, 2012, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM at respective centres

IMPORTANT

No application for Entrance Test shall be received after 03:00 PM on 9th September, 2012.
No candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination centre without the Admittance Card issued by the University. Candidates who fail to collect their Admittance Cards on the specified date shall have their candidature revoked.
Any candidate found to have domicile of more than one place shall be disqualified.
Any candidate found to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents at any stage of admission shall be permanently debarred from admission to any medical / dental college.
Entrance Test for Punjab is also mandatory for admission to private sector medical / dental colleges of the Punjab.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit for admission to any medical / dental institution
The candidates must reach their respective centres at least one hour before the commencement of the test. The centres shall be sealed/closed at 8.15 AM sharp.

Entrance Test
MBBS/BDS Admissions 2012-13

The process of Admission in Medical and Dental Institutions of the Punjab for Session 2012-13, shall start in August 2012. Prospective applicants are advised to ensure the availability of following documents:

Domicile Certificate of the candidate.
Certificates or Result Cards of SSC and HSSC (Pre-Medical Group)
Four (04) recent coloured photographs (size 3.5cm x 4.5cm), Two (02) coloured photographs (size 2.5cm x 2.5cm).
Applicant having equivalent foreign qualifications (O and A-Level, 12th Grade, etc.) must obtain Equivalence Certificate from IBCC.
Those claiming to be Muslim Hafiz-e-Quran, shall have to produce a Certificate in this regard from a registered Madrassa.

The above documents shall be required at the time of submission of application form for the Entrance Test.
IMPORTANT

The Entrance Test conducted by the University of Health Sciences Lahore is mandatory for admission to any public or private medical / dental college of the Punjab.
The syllabus and pattern of Entrance Test 2012 are available on UHS website www.uhs.edu.pk. The candidates are advised to prepare for the Entrance Test according to this syllabus.
The candidates are required to prepare for the Entrance Test from their respective textbooks.
The candidates are advised to refrain from taking preparatory courses offered by commercial academies.
